As of July 1, 2004, trash and recycling collection is a curbside program performed by Waste Management Inc. under the management of the Public Works Department. Any problems with collection, please call Waste Management at 1-800-545-4560.
Trash pickup is done on a weekly basis throughout the Town, recycling is done biweekly.
Businesses that are on Town trash pickup must purchase orange bags for trash. Bags can be purchased at Wanamaker Hardware, Arlington Swifty Printing and at the DPW Office at 51 Grove St., second floor. The bags $23 for a roll of 10 bags ($2.30 each). Recycling is free.
Recycling in Arlington is collected every other week on your regular trash collection day. As of August 2009, Arlington is a Single Stream system (also known as no-sort). Arlington residents are either on the triangle route or the circle route. Check the street list below to determine what route you are on. Then check the Recycling Calendar to determine when your route is next scheduled for pick up.

When a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day's collection and all remaining
collections for the week will be delayed one day. Friday's collection will be on Saturday.
No construction debris will be taken away with trash pick ups.
Trash is brought to the Wheelebrator incinerator in North Andover.
Recycling goes to KTI Recycling Plant in Charlestown.
Yard waste is brought to the Minuteman Composting Facility in Lexington.
