Question:

How do I find out what Flood Zone my house is in?
Answer:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program produced a set of Flood Insurance Rate Maps that define the areas located within the 100-year flood zone. These maps also show the base flood elevation for those areas located within the 100-year flood zone, areas of the 500-year flood and those areas determined to be outside the 500-year flood plain. For general information on flood insurance please  Visit Here  Flood determinations are routinely required when obtaining a mortgage or refinancing your property. The Public Works Department can assist you in determining what flood zone your property is located in.
